Delete your account, on your terms
You can delete your LumynFi account and every record attached to it whenever you choose, from inside the app or from this page if the app is no longer installed. This page explains both ways to do it, what gets erased, and the short windows involved. LumynFi is a personal-finance organizer that holds only the information you enter yourself, so deletion is clean and complete.

Option 1: delete inside the app
The quickest way is from within LumynFi, on web, iOS or Android:
- 1Open LumynFi and sign in.
- 2Go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
- 3Confirm to start the deletion. We may ask you to re-enter your password first.
Option 2: request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address on your account and we will handle the deletion for you. Write to hello@lumynfi.com with the subject "Account deletion request" and include the email address tied to your account. We may reply once to confirm it is really you, and we complete verified requests within 7 days.
What happens, and how long we keep data
- Your account is deactivated right away, so you can no longer sign in to it.
- There is a 30-day recovery window: sign back in with your email and password within 30 days to undo the deletion.
- After 30 days, your account and all personal data are permanently and irreversibly erased from our live systems.
- Encrypted backups roll off on a schedule and are fully purged within 12 months. Backups are never used to bring back a deleted account.
- Deletion requests sent by email are completed within 7 days of us verifying your identity.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account is removed, including:
- Your profile and sign-in details.
- Your accounts and balances, and every transaction, expense and income entry you recorded.
- Budgets, savings goals, bills, subscriptions and scheduled items.
- Money Circle records of money you owe and money owed to you.
- Reminders, notification settings and any in-app messages or insights generated for you.
- Your language, currency and app preferences.
The only thing we may keep is a minimal record needed to meet a legal or accounting obligation, for example a payment receipt if you held a paid subscription. It contains no more than the law requires and is described in our privacy policy. We never sell your data, and we never connect to your bank, so there are no bank credentials to remove because we never held any.
If you have a paid subscription
Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play. To stop future charges, cancel the subscription in the store where you bought it, under your account's subscriptions settings. A subscription bought on the web ends when the account is deleted.
