Privacy Policy
Your privacy is the product. LumynFi is built so you organize your money without ever handing over your bank logins. You enter your own data, it stays yours, and we never sell it. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Our privacy-first approach
LumynFi is a personal-finance organizer, a place to record, track, categorize and report on the money you choose to enter. It is not a bank, broker, lender or advisor. Because we don't connect to your bank accounts, we never see or store your banking credentials, and there is far less sensitive data to protect in the first place.
We collect the minimum needed to run the service, we are clear about how we use it, and we give you straightforward control to export or delete it at any time.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you upgrade to a paid plan, our payment processor handles your card details, and we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Financial data you enter
The core of LumynFi is the data you add yourself: account names and balances, transactions, budgets, savings goals, bills, subscriptions, and personal records of money you owe or are owed. You decide what to enter; you can edit or remove it at any time.
Usage and device information
To keep the app reliable and secure we collect basic technical data such as device type, browser, language and app interactions. We use this to fix bugs, improve performance and protect against abuse, not to build advertising profiles.
What we never ask for
LumynFi will never ask you for, and you should never enter, any of the following:
- Online-banking usernames or passwords
- Bank account PINs or card PINs
- Full debit or credit card numbers, expiry dates or CVV codes
- One-time passcodes or banking security/authentication codes
You enter your balances and transactions yourself. If any message or screen ever appears to request these details in LumynFi's name, treat it as fraudulent and contact us.
How we use your information
- To provide the service by storing your records and showing your accounts, budgets, goals, reports and reminders.
- To send reminders and notifications you have enabled, such as upcoming bills or money owed.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose and fix problems.
- To communicate with you about your account, important changes, and support requests.
AI features and your data
LumynFi's insights narrate your own numbers. The figures are computed in our code from the data you entered; the AI layer simply summarizes and explains them in plain language, for example that your dining spend is approaching your limit, or that a subscription is about to renew.
The AI does not move money, does not make decisions for you, and does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your personal financial records to train third-party advertising models.
How we store and protect your data
Your data is scoped and isolated to your account. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and sensitive fields are encrypted at rest. Backups are encrypted. We restrict internal access to what is necessary to operate and support the service. See our Security page for more detail.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the limited service providers needed to run LumynFi (such as cloud hosting and, if you subscribe, payment processing) and only to the extent required to deliver the service. These providers are bound to protect your data and use it only on our instructions. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your rights and choices
- Access and export: view your data in the app and export reports (for example, as CSV).
- Correct: edit or update any record you have entered.
- Delete: remove individual records, or close your account to delete your data.
- Control notifications: turn reminders and notifications on or off in settings.

Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active so the service works as expected. When you delete records or close your account, we remove the associated data from our active systems, and from backups in the normal backup-rotation cycle, except where we must retain limited information to meet legal obligations.
Children's privacy
LumynFi is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of LumynFi after an update means you accept the revised policy.
